General Information

Teaching young children is something I have always enjoyed doing. Before having my own children, I taught preschool for 8 years. My background is in both traditional and Montessori education. I have been a stay at home mom the last 8 years with my two boys (8 and 4 yrs.) and my daughter (5 yrs.). I’m from Pasco, and graduated from Pasco High School in 1995. I’m excited to get back into a classroom!
I love integrating many teaching/learning styles as I help my students explore and discover through the many themes we will cover throughout the school year. The curriculum will include a weekly theme along with a letter, number, color, and shape. Our daily activities will cover art and sensory experiences, math and science discovery, practical life skills, language building, and small and large motor development. We’ll be learning to recognize letters and their sounds through the Zoo Phonics program.
Our daily routine will include Circle time when we’ll discuss the calendar, the weather, and be introduced to our weekly themes. We will also have Snack time, Outdoor play, and our Indoor Activity Time will be divided between Projects, Free Play, Group Play, and Show and Tell. Music and Story Time will be incorporated throughout our day.
Issues with children can sometimes arise while working together in a classroom that will require redirection and/or discipline. The children will be taught that they need to ensure the safety of themselves, the others, and their environment by following basic classroom rules. Children will be encouraged to use their words to solve problems and if needed will be guided to another area or activity in order to resolve issues.
My goal is establish a love of school and learning and to have fun! I look forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the year.
